Structural design course – Student’s visit at Nervi Lab
As part of the practical learning and academic activities at Politecnico di Milano, students from the Structural Design (AY 25-26) course participated in an educational site visit to the Luigi Nervi Laboratory on April 14, 2026.
Guided by Professor Paolo Martinelli, the students visited the exhibition dedicated to the extraordinary work and heritage of Pier Luigi Nervi, hosted precisely within the Lecco university complex. The visit offered the class a unique opportunity to study closer the mastery of one of the most influential figures in 20th-century structural engineering and architecture, exploring iconic structural models, drawings, and design philosophies.

Located in a vibrant academic environment on the shores of Lake Como, the Lecco Campus and its Pier Luigi Nervi Permanent Exhibition serve as an inspiring setting for students, bridging historical architectural excellence with modern engineering education.
Special thanks to Professor Paolo Martinelli for guiding the students through this enriching cultural and educational experience.
