Graduate Employment Report 2025
The 2025 Graduate Employment Report for the Master’s Degree in Building and Architectural Engineering confirms the excellent professional outcomes achieved by graduates of the programme. The results, collected one year after graduation, highlight the strong employability and satisfaction levels of both Italian and international students, reflecting the quality and relevance of the education provided at the Politecnico di Milano.
Employment rate and career paths
According to the 2025 survey, conducted by the Career Service at the beginning of the year, 100% of Italian graduates and 88% of international graduates in Building and Architectural Engineering are employed within one year after completing their studies. The data include all graduates who are employed, self-employed, or enrolled in paid PhD programmes, which have been considered as employment starting from this edition of the report.
Among Italian graduates, 55% are self-employed and 45% are employees, while international graduates are primarily employed under permanent or fixed-term contracts, with a significant portion also engaged in internships or apprenticeships. These figures demonstrate the variety of career paths accessible to graduates and the versatility of their professional profile, which effectively bridges engineering and architectural disciplines.
Sectors and areas of expertise
Graduates find employment in a wide range of professional sectors. The most represented areas for Italian graduates include Building and Construction, Civil Engineering, and Transport and Logistics, while international graduates are mainly active in Building and Construction, Architecture, Design and Interior Design, and Civil Engineering.
The top areas of expertise for both groups include Design, Planning and Control, Research and Development, Operations, and Quality and Control. These data confirm the multidisciplinary approach of the degree programme and its capacity to prepare professionals capable of addressing complex challenges in the built environment.
Company size and salary
Most graduates are employed in companies with up to 250 employees, although a significant proportion work in large organisations with more than 1,000 employees. The average net monthly salary reported by Italian graduates amounts to €2,365, while for international graduates it stands at €1,677, reflecting the diversity of employment locations and contractual conditions.
Satisfaction and job alignment
Graduate satisfaction remains consistently high. 85% of Italian and 82% of international graduates report being satisfied with their specific degree, while over 90% in both groups state that their current job is consistent with their field of study. Furthermore, the average satisfaction with current employment reaches 8.2/10 among Italian graduates and 7.2/10 among international graduates.

The 2025 Employment Report demonstrates the continued strength of the Building and Architectural Engineering programme in preparing professionals who are highly employable and satisfied with their career paths. These results confirm the effectiveness of an educational model that integrates engineering, architecture, and sustainability, ensuring that graduates are well-equipped to contribute to the design and management of the built environment at both national and international levels.
